Legacy
By James Kerr
How do you turn vision into action, purpose into practice and pressure into results? Legacy is an insightful read into what the New Zealand All Blacks can teach us about success and effective leadership.
So many important learnings about respect, culture, pressure and integrity that I had to read it twice! To truly understand what it takes to leave a legacy and the significance of doing so, you have to read this book. Then it’s time to put the words into action and start leaving the legacy you were born to leave.

Mindset
By Carol Dweck
In this edition, Dweck offers new insights into her now famous and broadly embraced concept. She introduces a phenomenon she calls false growth mindset and guides people toward adopting a deeper, truer growth mindset. She also expands the mindset concept beyond the individual, applying it to the cultures of groups and organizations. With the right mindset, you can motivate those you lead, teach, and love — to transform their lives and your own.

Outliers
By Malcolm Gladwell
My Monday Motivation book this week is Malcolm Gladwell’s Outliers. I love this book because Malcolm talks a lot about the 10,000 hour rule and how investing this into your chosen pursuit will ultimately lead to mastery. It is easy to over complicate success so I love how Malcolm breaks it down and simplifies what contributes to success. The three unspoken elements really hit home with me … what is your ability, opportunity and arbitrary advantage? Never give up!

Rising Strong
By Brene Brown
Another one for the list… “Rising Strong” by Brené Brown.
I had so many A-ha moments while reading this book so I started reading it with a highlighter! It’s not our success or failure in life that defines us, but the way we recognise the power of emotion and vulnerability and take ownership of our stories. What stories are you telling yourself to justify your beliefs? Are you accepting responsibility or laying blame? Rising strong after a fall is how we cultivate whole heartedness. This book exposed a few kinks in my armour and inspired me to reflect, reassess and respond. It’s a goer!
